A little guide of Palma’s nativity scenes
In Mallorca it is a widespread custom during the Christmas season, to establish cribs showing the nativity scene. They are worth a visit with the children during their holidays. For those who still carry the illusion of this celebration in their hearts, children as well as adults, we would like to present you the most important examples:
Convento de la Concepción c/Capuchinas 14, Mo – Su 11h to 14h * 17.30h to 20.30h
The monastery houses a large sample of different artistically nativity sets. A lot of them are decorated with shells, which is a Mallorcan tradition. A visit is also a good opportunity to purchase handmade Christmas pastry; made by the nuns of the convent.
Fundación Bartolomé March, Palau Reial, Mo – Fr 10h to 17h Saturdays 10h to14 h
2000 figures of the eighteenth century. The procession of the Three Magi is probably the most beautiful and most magnificent scene of this crib.
